RFW BE CAROUSELL & MAREUNROL`S SS2013

Sunday, November 4, 2012

Hello again and let me share with you something beautiful and this time – something dramatic too. Yesterday I was at the Riga Fashion Week. It was the last day of this fashionable week and it was something fantastic! Today I am going to show you again, just two collections, but how wonderful they are.. oh my.
First one is called Be Carousell by Dace Krievina Bahmane. I loved this collection so much because of its colors that are my favorite besides black – beige, white, brown… And the quality of the pieces seems very, very good. It would be really hard for me to choose just one garment from this collection so I won`t say anything. Just keep going and see what I am talking about.
The second collection is for man. It is called “Episode 2” by Mareunrol`s. What is special about this collection, besides from the unique design, fabrics and the way it is presented, this is the collection with which Mareunrol’s participated in Paris Fashion Week in June, therefore, becoming the only Latvian fashion brand to be included in the official Paris Fashion Week program.
The show was something I describe as musical, opera, thunderstorm and fashion all in one. It was the best fashion show I had ever seen in my life! It all started with a performance by one of the best choirs in Latvia “Kamēr”. Then the show started and every model came on the stage, one by one, stood for a while in three different places and then left. At the very end all the models came on the stage together and stood there so everyone can look closely at the clothes, touch them if wanted so and take pictures.
I never thought that you could present clothing so well. Applause to Mareunrol`s! Now scroll down and enjoy some art.

If you are wondering what happens when my flashlight is dying, take a look at these two artsy photos. I call them “the moment when soul leaves the body”.
I really do hope that you enjoyed this post and the one before this one HERE, because the 17th Riga Fashion Week is now behind us and it is time to get ready for the next one.. or take a nap.

RFW QOOQOO & NARCISS SS2013

Saturday, November 3, 2012

I want to share with you two wonderful shows I attended on November 1. As you might know, it is Riga Fashion Week here in Latvia right now. Many designers are presenting their SS2013 collections and I want to show you two of them. By the way, this is the first time I am taking my own photos at fashion shows so the quality might not be the best but practice makes perfect, doesn`t it?

Below and in the first photo you can see the newest QooQoo collection “Botanica”. I really liked the setting and all the flowers made me realize how much I miss Summer.  Enjoy!
I love how poisonous the hair of the model looks. I`ll admit that it made me kinda want to change my hair color to something extreme, but I think that I will leave that idea behind.. for a while.
This is the dress I really liked and would love to see in my closet. Green, black and white works so good together. Want to try it on and who know, maybe very soon you will see me wearing it!
And at the end of the show this little cutie surprised everyone. It is QooQoo designers Alyona Bauska`s husky puppy named Laska which in russian means caress and kindness.
The next show and the last one today is by Narciss and the collection “Austra” is inspired by the mythological Austras tree from Latvian mythology. Colors like gold, silver and copper make the collection seem so royal and precious. Scroll down to see what I mean..
I think that braids were the right choice for the hair styles and made models look adorable. I want to learn to make myself a messy braid such as the one in the picture above.
The jacket and earrings look stunning together and most definitely are on my shopping list!

This is my favorite part of the collection – the suit. It looks so elegant but at the same time very playful.

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA x H&M

Friday, November 2, 2012

Yesterday I had a chance to see, touch and admire Maison Martin Margiela x H&M collection that will launch in selected H&M stores on November 15. I am getting my running shoes ready already because as I see from the world of oh beloved internet, girls and boys all around the world have gone mad about this collection. And yes, I am one of them.

I really like the candy clutch. The material feels really soft and puffy. Hard to explain how ‘amazing’ feels though so I suggest you to go check it out yourselves on November 15. But I must warn you, that is the biggest candy I have ever held. No seriously, if you compare it`s size with the size of the shoes in the photo, you can see that the clutch is really big and it means only one thing – finally a clutch where something more than a phone or wallet fits in. Cheers!
Another piece I am dying for? This stunning leather jacket! It looks amazing both ways – on a hanger or when being worn. I can already imagine myself in it with huge black sunglasses and those black plexi wedge pumps. ‘Eye catching’ could not really explain that kind of an outfit.

Here is the wonderful Sanita Kalnina from http://www.thekalninablog.com/ posing with those amazing red Plexi glass wedge pumps.

I am a really happy girl because I had a chance to try on that over-sized coat in the picture on the left and I must say that I felt like I am  drowning in it at first but after you get over the shock that it`s MMM that you are wearing.. It feels amazing. I love how warm it was and the feeling could be compared with the one you get in the morning, when you must get up but the blanket is so warm and comfy. I really do desire this coat a lot. It would be my everyday morning blanket.

These High-top sneakers are really beautiful. I love how simple, classy but still rebel they are! Would love to see my guy-friends wearing them a lot!
Let me share with you this breath-taking video from Maison Martin Margiela x H&M launch event in NYC. I love how Selma Blair looked and how beautiful the horizontal dress looked on her.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you all tomorrow!
